Privacy Policy

PermitSketch ("we", "us") runs permitsketch.com and the PermitSketch app. This policy explains what information we collect when you use them, why, who helps us process it, and the choices you have. For anything about your information, contact us through the support form.

• Account details: your name and email address, and how you sign in (email and password, or Google, Microsoft, Facebook or Apple, in which case that provider shares your name and email with us).
• Your projects: property addresses, the property information we look up for them, the photos you upload, your description of the work, measurements, the owner name, contractor or company details and logos you add, and the drawings made from all of this, including in the Studio.
• Payments: what you bought, the amount, the date and its status, the Stripe references for the payment, customer and subscription, and, for a project unlock, the project's address. Stripe handles your card details; we never see or store your full card number.
• Usage records: the time of each drawing generation, property lookup and upload made by your account, used to apply the fair-use limits and to protect the service from abuse.
• Page views (our own counter): the page visited, the website that sent you (its domain only), a campaign tag if the link had one, the type of device (phone, tablet or desktop), whether you were signed in, and a random number that lasts only as long as your browser tab. This counter does not record your name, email or IP address, and if your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal, it records nothing.
• App usage recorded by Base44: Base44, which hosts the app, also records for us which pages of the app are opened, the full address of the page that sent you, how long a visit lasts and, when you are signed in, your account ID, together with an identifier kept in your browser's storage. We use it to see how the app is used. It is recorded whether or not your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal.
• Messages: what you send us through the support form, the email address to reply to, and our replies.

• to run the service: save your projects, generate your drawings, look up property records and show your photos;
• to take payments, apply what you bought, and handle refunds and disputes;
• to send you emails about your account and purchases (for example a welcome message, a receipt or a reply to your question);
• to apply usage limits, prevent fraud and abuse, and keep the service secure;
• to understand, in aggregate, which pages are used, so we can improve the product.

We do not sell your personal information, we do not share it for targeted advertising, and we do not use it to build advertising profiles.

Your information is handled by these providers, only to run the service for you:

• Base44 hosts the app (its database, sign-in, file storage and email delivery) and records app usage for us, as described in section 2.
• AI model providers, reached through Base44, write the notes on your drawings from your project's address, jurisdiction, description, measurements and assumptions, and up to three of your photos. They create the optional illustration of the finished work from your first photo, and look up public property records by searching the web for your address.
• Google Maps Platform suggests addresses as you type them and locates the address when you look up a property.
• Google Fonts supplies the typeface the pages use, so your browser downloads it from Google, which receives your IP address.
• Stripe processes payments and runs the billing page where you manage Pro. It receives your email address, your account ID and, for a project unlock, the project's address.
• Google, Microsoft, Facebook or Apple, if you choose to sign in with one of them.

We may also share information if the law requires it, to protect people or the service from harm, or as part of a sale or reorganisation of the business, in which case this policy continues to apply to it.

Photos and logos are stored as files at long, unguessable web addresses so that the app can show them on your drawings. They are not listed or searchable, but anyone who is given the exact address of a file can open it. Please do not upload photos that you would not want anyone else to see, such as pictures of people or documents.

PermitSketch does not use advertising cookies. Signing in keeps a sign-in token in your browser's storage. Our page-view counter keeps its random number in storage that is cleared when you close the tab, and Base44 keeps the identifier for its app usage records in your browser's storage until you clear it. The app may also keep unsaved work in your browser so that it is not lost. If you sign in with another provider or pay through Stripe, those services may set their own cookies on their own sites.

• Your account and projects stay until you delete them or ask us to delete your account.
• Payment records are kept as long as we need them for accounting, tax and legal reasons.
• Usage records are kept while your account exists; when you ask us to delete your account, we delete them too. Page views from our own counter are not linked to you and are kept for our statistics.
• Deleted information may remain in backups for a limited time before it is overwritten.

You can edit or delete your projects in the app at any time. To get a copy of your information, correct it, or delete your account and everything in it, ask us through the support form from your account. We will confirm the request comes from you and reply within the time the law requires. Depending on where you live (for example, in California or the European Union), you may have further rights, such as to object to or restrict some processing or to complain to a data protection authority; we will honour them. We will not treat you differently for using these rights.

We use encrypted connections, access controls that keep each account's projects private to that account, and server-side checks on every payment. No service is perfectly secure, so please use a strong password and tell us if you notice anything wrong.

PermitSketch is only for people 18 or older, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone younger. If you think someone under 18 has given us information or has an account, contact us and we will delete it.

PermitSketch is run from the United States, and our providers may process information in the United States and other countries. By using the service, you understand that your information will be handled there under this policy.

We may update this policy. The date at the top shows when it last changed. If a change is significant, we will tell you in the app or by email before it applies.
